CASBR

The Center for Advanced Spatial Biomolecule Research (CASBR) at the University of Florida is the nation’s leading spatial metabolomics hub. We develop and deploy cutting-edge mass spectrometry and imaging platforms to map metabolites, lipids, and glycans at cellular resolution. CASBR supports over 150 research projects annually, processes more than 6,000 samples per year, and drives innovation through AI-powered analytics and custom software tools. Our mission is to accelerate discovery in neuroscience, cancer, metabolism, and beyond by enabling researchers to visualize biology in space.

3D Metabolome Atlas

Understanding how metabolism works across tissues is key to unlocking biology’s complexities. Our new tool, MetaVision3D, helps bring this to life by turning thin, 2D tissue images into detailed 3D models. Using advanced computer vision, we can map where different metabolites are located in space—offering new insights into the brain and beyond. Vision

Vision — a GUI platform that integrates the analytical pipelines of SAMI and MetaVision3D into a unified, user-friendly desktop application. Vision enables straightforward, linear point-and-click interactions across all analysis steps, including data upload, normalization, multi-omics integration, dimensionality reduction via UMAP, spatial clustering, pathway enrichment, and 3D construction. Vision aims to simplify complex computational processes into intuitive workflows, making spatial metabolomics more accessible to bench scientists who are more familiar with standard desktop applications.
